Me: pops out crumb tray to clean it.

Me: pushes lever up to raise toast to pull it out easier

Person who never flicked through the manual: WTH?

There’s people who don’t even know there’s a crumb tray to clean. Also, the manual likely has multiple languages and, of course, a bunch of warnings because people are stupid and incapable of taking accountability for their poor decision-making ability. “How was I supposed to know you couldn’t put the toaster in the dishwasher?”

Or alternative “How was I supposed to know not to insert a knife and damage the heating elements”

I take great pride in whacking the lever with one hand, then catching the toast in the air with the other.

I assume it’s in like 4 or 5 languages though?

Also, gotta spell it out for the people with below average intelligence not to stick fingers, fork, or hands in it. The Toaster isn’t a substitute for a rubber duck, etc. lol

They need to add a page for the intelligent people laying it on its side to make cheese on toast

I’ll bet 10-11 of those pages are safety warnings such as “Do not bathe with your toaster. Do not stab your toaster with a fork.” Etc.

If any of it contained repair documentation that’d actually be pretty cool, but I’m pretty sure it’s mostly just “how to press a button”, and “please don’t put this in the bathtub”

There are people who read the manual - peace be upon them.

And there are people who do not read the manual. May they spend enough time on hold to reconsider the errror of their ways.

Probably just covering legal bases so they don’t get sued to oblivion because they didn’t tell people that toast can burn at prolonged exposure to toasting. And other stuff like that.

Did you know, the potentiometers scale is usually supposed to be minutes? Maybe it’s in the manual 🙂

I just checked, and it seems even my dualit classic isn’t exempt from this!

Though to its credit, it’s mostly “how to not set the kitchen on fire” and “how to get the best out of your toast”.

It annoys me on toasters like this that you can’t activate just one side. If you want to toast a single slice then you still have to have all the elements on instead of just the ones where the bread is.

There’s also a bagel setting in America that only turns one side on of each slot so you only toast one side of the slice. It’s great for rolls, burger buns etc.

The toaster gods have deemed us unworthy of this though.

I genuinely didn’t notice the bossin’ design on the toaster until I saw the even better picture on the manual!
