New York Rep Tom Suozzi and Massachusetts Rep Seth Moulton, both of whom have supported transgender rights in Congress in the past, expressed frustration at their party’s unwillingness to address an issue that was central to the Trump campaign’s messaging, particularly in its TV advertising.

Speaking to The New York Times on Wednesday, Suozzi said: “The Democrats have to stop pandering to the far left.

“I don’t want to discriminate against anybody, but I don’t think biological boys should be playing in girls’ sports.

“Democrats aren’t saying that, and they should be.”

Moulton then spoke to the Times on Thursday and said: “Democrats spend way too much time trying not to offend anyone rather than being brutally honest about the challenges many Americans face.

“I have two little girls, I don’t want them getting run over on a playing field by a male or formerly male athlete, but as a Democrat I’m supposed to be afraid to say that.”

Cowardly pig-fuckers who’d turn on their trans fellow-citizens for political points.

Like, it’s sad because they are so close to getting the point.

      • Say yes to positive economic policy that positively affects everyone and is very popular
      • Say no to literal penis inspection day, which negatively impacts everyone and is deeply unpopular

I desperately hope there can be meaningful and constructive backlash against this kind of nonsense.

It’s not deeply unpopular. It’s deeply unpopular in my circles, and probably yours, but the country just gave the popular vote to a republican for the first time in 20 years.

You are correct that Trump is popular!

You would not be correct to assume that anti-trans legislation is popular.

It’s important to remember the air gap between the policies people support and the candidates they vote for. People generally indicate discomfort with overregulation of such a tiny minority, and this is what I mean when I said “deeply unpopular.”
