Additionally, it appears that the code for the backend server is intended to be public as well, but just doesn’t exist outside of a readme.md document in the main branch.

This is setting off sirens, particularly the lack of a license.

    This is how the dev works, he Just develop in secret at the begenning, and post all the source code when everything is ready, As a developer I understand that you don’t want pzople contributing to a bad codebase, so he will rekease it when the code is good enough to view by others!

    That’s my theory, and also, knowing the guy, it’s not that alarming, it will come for sure! :)

    Not alarming, but a bit concerning. It’s developed by a single developer who has also developed Pixelfed, fedidb.org, fediverse.info and others.

    It’s not like this is some new, anonymous actor on the fediverse. He does a lot of projects, all at the same time in addition to working a day job. That doesn’t excuse not releasing source code and license, but that could explain why some parts of the projects are prioritized.
