Summary

Wolverine Packing Co. has recalled 167,000 pounds of fresh and frozen ground beef due to E. coli O157:H7 contamination linked to 15 illnesses in Minnesota between Nov. 2–10.

The bacteria, also tied to McDonald’s Quarter Pounder onions last month, was detected in a tested sample.

The affected products, marked “EST. 2574B,” were distributed to restaurants nationwide.

The USDA urges restaurants to stop serving these products and advises consumers to cook beef to 160°F to eliminate bacteria.

E. coli O157:H7 can cause severe intestinal and kidney complications.

Thank you for providing a summary. These news outlets are so shitty for putting public safety information behind a fucking paywall…

Is it limited to Minnesota or do folks in other states need to worry about this?
