Filipinos often have this idea that we suck at everything.
For example, when they see bad infrastructure design or mismanaged infra, they go: “OnLy In Da PeLePens”. Except that awful infra is present everywhere else.
Here’s one of an escalator in Georgia:
When they see litter, they say the exact same thing. Except that other countries litter too. In fact, here’s one I found in Japan last week that was left by teenagers. When I got back the next morning it was still there. Why? Japan supposedly has subpar trash collection that’s largely dependent on citizens bringing their trash home.
So, in this thread: Post anything you find that debunks this mindset.
Been to Taiwan and walked this vendor-filled street (parang yung dating divi) with lots of black-water puddles because of poor drainage. It was not a nice place to walk after the rain. Sila rin pala.
