I had a dog like this once. Old lady beagle, mostly deaf, except for when you were crinkling a cheese slice packet. Then she’d let you know that she wasn’t quite as deaf as she made herself out to be.
We had a Guinea pig growing up that could hear the crinkle of lettuce packaging through walls and go squee sqeee skeeeeeeee! Loved her.
Guinea pig noises are so cute!
