The grids of robo ports and substations don’t match up. I’m always overlapping one on the other at some point. I figure there are 3 options

  1. don’t match grids, just maximize each grid separately and have defects here and there.

  2. use the substations as the base grid and match ports to it.

  3. use the ports as base grid and match substations to it.

I’m leaning towards #2.

Also worth thinking about, higher quality substations/ roboports. Changes the ranges, could make them line up better

I don’t think quality affects roboport range, just the robot charging stats.

Make a grid aligned blueprint and make it symmetrical. A extra power pole in the middle won’t kill anyone.

Higher quality substations have more range and could be more satisfying

You want to minimize robo ports as they have a constant power draw, power poles dont, so better to have extra power poles

Honestly, I do neither. I have tried all 3 ways and some builds do not work when you align them to an external grid.
