And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack
And you may find yourself in another part of the world
And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife
And you may ask yourself, “Well, how did I get here?”
Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by, water flowing underground
Into the blue again after the money’s gone
Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground
And you may ask yourself, “How do I work this?”
And you may ask yourself, “Where is that large automobile?”
And you may tell yourself, “This is not my beautiful house”
And you may tell yourself, “This is not my beautiful wife”
Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by, water flowing underground
Into the blue again after the money’s gone
Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground
Same as it ever was, same as it ever was
Same as it ever was, same as it ever was
Same as it ever was, same as it ever was
Same as it ever was, same as it ever was
This morning I couldn’t find my other thermal sock. Searched for a minute or so, which is a surprisingly long time in the small space around a bed. Eventually realised I’d put both of them on the same foot.
This is the second time I’ve done this.
I know how it happens too. Dimly lit room. Put on first sock. Tired. Get distracted, forget what I’ve done. Put on “first” sock. Since I pretty much always start with the same foot when putting on socks…
Doing a regular set minimum amount of exercise every day regardless of whether you want to or not, would solve a lot of these problems.
I know because I was that guy until I started exercising a set amount of time each day.
It really is crazy what drinking lots of water and doing like 15 minutes of good exercise will do for you. Those two things along will bleed into every other aspect of your life and improve almost everything
Great advice but difficult for anyone with depression, ADHD, etc. I started up a very small amount of daily yoga again and it helps. Need to get on the drinking water thing, and I even like cold water.
There is water at the bottom of the ocean
under the water, carry the water
Good comic, fantastic song.
Same as it ever was
I find that if I forget a reason why I went into a room (which happens constantly because of ADHD), I find that it helps to go back into the other room and stand exactly where you were when you got the idea to enter the room.
Don’t remember the reason why this works, but it had something to do with our brains discarding information about the other room you were in, so it can process the room you just moved into. Like how a video game unloads the assets in an area you were just in to save memory and load the next map. Go back into the old area, and everything gets “loaded” back into your brain.
Wake up, Dr. Freeman. Wake up and smell the ashes…
