Musk’s abrupt firing of the team initially seemed like a display of power—a way to assert control and show he could make tough decisions in the face of investor pressure.
A display of power is NOT caving to investor pressure and instead doing what is best for the company. This was a display of weakness.
The whole saga of this shit is just super baffling. It was clearly a well-functioning department that essentially established what has become the national standard EV port… and he fires the team that owns it. Like… wat.
I assumed he threw a tantrum because someone told him “no”. Whether he came to his senses or some huge investor made him come to his senses, I have no idea
