For anyone curious, here is all my projects:

    1. Pizza Synthwave - my first ever Steam game

    2. Be a Rock - the game in question. I admit it’s not very good but I learned a lot making it. Some big streamers did play it, without me contacting them.

Do Not Press The Button (To Delete The Multiverse) - my current project. In the process of making this game and collecting wishlists. Game dev is hard, yo.

Hey that’s awesome! Even following through with one game and getting it onto steam is a huge achievement. Good luck with your latest project.

Thank you! Yeah, there is this stat that most developers on Steam release just one game and then give up. I think it’s something like 75%. They just give up after one bad projects, which like if a runner quits after their first race ever.

Buy some whisky. How else are you gonna get 40%?

On a more serious note, I’ve always wondered how sales work. Does Steam just have the authority to sell your game for a discount or does the dev get a say in that?

Given that some games (Factorio) explicitly never go on sale, I assume you get to choose, though they probably approach devs with offers/info on upcoming platform wide sales.

The dev picks the discount. If it’s at least 20%, Steam will email everyone that has the game wishlisted. It costs $100 to list the game on Steam; but if you make $100 in sales, you get that money back.

The dev and whatever other steam accounts they give permission to are the only ones who can decide to put a game on sale.

Sorry about that! I’m not sure if people will be interested. It’s called Be A Rock, but I was kind of new to game dev at the time so I can’t say that it is that good. I would prefer players to check out my current project as I feel it’s coming along nicely - Do Not Press The Button (To Delete The Multiverse)

No idea yet. If you have suggestions based on other games? Most people I have asked have recommended 10-15 USD

This seems like a very reasonable price range. I’m in, though I would pay for it even if it was 20-25 USD.
