    The same Tim Scott that not long ago stated unequivocally that America is not a racist country and continues to state that systemic racism doesn’t exist.

      Don’t forget that he said that either right before or right after talking about experiencing racism at the grocery store

    I say good on Scott. He makes a good point by explaining why “slavery as job training” isn’t just offensive, but factually wrong. Conservatives listen to Scott; they vote for him. This is a good thing.

    Maybe I’m sentimental. Being a lefty from the deep south changes how you look at things. I remember him standing next to Hailey when they finally took the diet-swastika off the Statehouse grounds. And maybe I grade him on a curve because of who he replaced. Or maybe the standard for national Republican has dropped so low, that appearing to be a decent person seems exceptional. Whatever, I like Tim Scott.
