That was a fun match yesterday. I had to resort to the replay since I couldn’t watch it live. But all things considered it was a pretty comfy win for us. We could have won it by 4 or 5 to nil, if our finishing had been a wee bit better and if Onana hadn’t been quite so sharp.
It was hilarious that for our second goal the ball deflected in off Saliba’s arse. He has no idea about it. But his arrogant celebration for the goal was brilliant.
I’m not writing off their new coach yet since it’s early days. But that club is so toxic. How many managers have they chewed through now since Ferguson? They bring in a new face and expect them to magically fix a profoundly broken club in the span of weeks or months. It’s lipstick on a pig. And no matter how good they are as a manager, they’re not going to succeed until the club does a massive overhaul. All that said, long may their failure and misery continue!
We should really be a bit more concerned about Chelsea, tbh. Obviously they’ve faced a weaker schedule but they are doing decently in the league, and technically better than us.
Don’t forget that they could field entirely separate PL and European squads
And doing quite well in each too
tbf one would expect them to do well in the UECL.
