This the type of meme your 14 year old sibling shows everyone at the dinner table during Thanksgiving

    All working in tandem…for capitalism.

Shame the otherwise good meme leaves out the most important part.

Also, and this is by no means a defence of the “big” part of big pharma, but I think it’s important to diferenciate science, medicine, and pharmaceuticals from the for profit and higher management/ownership elements of the industry, because pushing anti “big pharma” sentiment is exactly how every single health conspiracy theory (and the snake oil targeted at the most vulnerable people as a result) takes its hold. Phrases like “big pharma” “big ag” and so on exist to make sure those using them as scapegoats and to push “alternatives” don’t accidentally target the real source of the problem (and the reason they’re in the market manipulating people in to buying their own products) - capitalism.

Ye, given the comm, I would hope this goes without saying.

I get that, but also I’ve seen the kind of people, and their arguments (E: and some of their insistence on blaming anything but capitalism), that these posts bring in from /all, so I still think it’s worth saying lol

NPR does not deserve to be on that list. You can tell because Republicans have been trying to kill it forever.

For a long time, I’d agree with you, but the contortions they underwent to give fair and balanced coverage to both candidates basically sane-washed trump imho.

and I love my NPR station.
