This is extremely bad news for Russia. The more United States weapons that Ukraine has, the more territory it will be able to take back and the more likely it is for them to outright win the war.
We aren’t delivering our best Abrams, unfortunately. Everything we can give them helps, but I’m not convinced these will be the big game changer some people think they will be.
I’m optimistic, but I’m also holding my breath here.
September is a IMHO a sub-optimal delivery timeline. Since I’m assuming mid to late September, which is just before mud season.
Now they’ll have 70 ton tanks that need double the fuel of the Leopard 2. Do the units delivered at least have the APU since I’m expecting the tanks to sit idling for months until the deep freeze sets in?
The optimistic part is that the El Niño will deliver a cold winter this time.
The pessimist also know that russia will be digging in the one area around Nova Kakhovka that has become viable for assault. I’m hoping for that assault to go somehow well, given that Ukrainians finally get the F16 by then (if its not pushed back to the spring mud).
