Nicole Kidman wants ‘Babygirl’ to show she’s still a ‘sexual being’ and that romance and eroticism isn’t just for people in their 20s and 30s.
Nicole, we know old people fuck, we just don’t want to think about it.
Who’s we? Maybe older sexually active people do want to think about it. Why shouldn’t their life experiences be represented in the media? Maybe you’re just not the target group?
Angrystego, we know you old people fuck, and your desire to watch other old people fuck is valid.
But is Nicole here making this comment for you, who already knows old people fuck and likes watching it, or because she thinks young people need to know old people fuck?
Well, from what she says I understand she’s doing it for women, who have families and feel kind of sexually discarded.
You said you know that old people fuck, so I suppose you’re not shocked by the information. You don’t have to watch the movie. And perhaps later in your life you’ll be grateful you know it’s ok to still feel sexual needs.
I think it’s her version of the action star that doesn’t know when to hang up the mantle. She’ll be running around in nothing but a trench coat flashing people next year. They will run through a torrent of mixed emotions.
It’s not just the storyline–it’s that she’s gone so hard into plastic surgery in addition to the storyline. That makes it feel like she’s in denial and not handling aging super well, which is understandable. But this whole thing would come across differently if it were, for example, Jodie Foster. Or Kathy Bates. Maybe not the best examples.
“A lot of times women are discarded at a certain period of their career as a sexual being. So it was really beautiful to be seen in this way,” Kidman said in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “From the minute I read it, I was like, ‘Yeah, this is a voice I haven’t seen, this is a place that I haven’t been, I don’t think audiences have been.'”
I think she hasn’t seen any movie starring Isabelle Huppert.
Her face was very strange in The Northman.
