Shockingly, the Sixers aren’t asking for a huge handout from the city. Nothing like you see with other stadiums. They just want to disrupt an entire few blocks and silence Chinatown residents who don’t want a whole ass stadium in their backyard

Actually not really. The stadium is more controversial because the neighborhood (Chinatown) is against it. The team isn’t asking for much from the city, mainly zoning stuff. Residents are super upset about traffic, noise, and a few other issues.
They are definitely getting tax breaks, but it’s not like the city is bankrolling the whole thing like you see in most places…
