A “Soap Opera.” It was a popular old daytime television show aimed towards housewives for when the kids were in school.

Huh, so what does she mean by ‘Tuesday’s “General Hospital”’? Is the apostrophe a possessive or a contraction?
I believe she’s saying he stole his romantic rambling from last Tuesday’s show and that he hadn’t written it himself.
