By 2019 he had already tried to convince everyone that that cave rescue diver was a paedophile for thinking the submarine was a stupid idea

That was the catalyst. He had a full mental meltdown after that and has been burning ever since.

His daughter coming out and him calling it the “woke-mind virus” was peak meltdown for me.

Really shows how much control he wants.

He can’t have coined it. It’s been floating around xitter and right wing forums a lot longer and musk has never had an original thought. It’s all 8chan (9gag) humor and retweets.

He’s such a pathetic asshole. For all of his money, fame, and power, he’s still sad and pathetic. Can you imagine having unlimited resources, with the entire world at your fingertips, and still deciding to spend half of every day arguing with incels online? What a loser!

That’s not what we call meltdowns, but yes, autistic people should not be in positions of power and fame for their own good. There are speculations that Marcus Aurelius was one, but his notes start with a long list of people who have taught him how to avoid bad things, and despite that list we know that he’s done some unhinged shit before becoming the emperor we know from those notes. My dumb, dumb dad also caught his chance to prove he shouldn’t have anything resembling power over others.

Must have sucked to be his first wife, who wrote an article about how bad Musk was all the way back in 2010.

It’s pretty normal for women to call out troublesome behavior from horrible people only for it to take a decade or two before anybody listens.

        Epstein.

        Harvey Weinstein.

Bill Cosby. (Granted Hannibal Buress made it soar)

In 2017 when I got my dev job, one of the interview questions were about who’s your idol. One of the most approved answers was “Elon Musk”. It’s actually kind of amazing to see how hard his popularity fell since then.

Seeing him mentioned in 2010-2020 media as an enlightened soul who will bring Humanity to Space is so cringe now.

He’s in an episode of Rick and Morty. Granted, Rick makes jabs at Elon so it ages a bit better than most others.

In Russia they would say “how do you like that, Elon Musk?” as a mockery of something technical made in a really clumsy way. Without the mocking intonation it would mean that the thing should impress Elon Musk. Meaning Elon Musk had something resembling a cult of personality, a bit like Steve Jobs (interesting how these cults never form around people really comparable to bloody Columbus, say, Unix fathers, Bill Joy, Fabrice Bellard).

I miss the days when billionaires mostly just stayed quiet, and used some of their money to start foundations like the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation. If we have to have billionaires, then at least let’s have quiet and respectable ones.

They were influencing public policy then too and hoarding wealth damaging society, just more through corporate lobbyists indirectly because they thought there would be consequences for breaking the laws. Now the oligarchs do it in the open because they know there won’t be consequences aside from a letter from the DoJ asking them to please stop.

this is sad. he’s a fascist cunt, but no fool. the guy is one of the top richest single human beings in the world, after vladimir putin, and the saudis, he purchased twitter to kill it and he has, he purchased tesla to push electric vehicles into the mainstream and he has, and he purchased space x to take over the privatization of fucking space from nasa, and he has, and lastly for his latest trick, he bought his way into the very topmost descision maker echelon of the united states government with his support for trump in the last election

he’s a cunt, but he’s no fool. those who don’t recognize a force to be reckoned with, and dismiss him and trump as morons, while they are both actively digging the graves for hundreds of millions of people are experiencing cognitive dissonance on a level i can only attribute to full flight from reality brought on by abject terror or purposeful obtusity

There’s this thing called “The Great Man Theory” It’s seriously flawed!

How many engineers went to school for 6 years or more to learn their trade?
Thousands of employees multiplied by thousands of hours of study.

How many people does Tesla or SpaceX employ?

How many get credit for their ideas? If they invent something new, solve an impossible problem,
patent a new invention - who gets credit for it? Elon does!

      140,500 employees at Tesla

      13,000 employees at SpaceX

You got 153,000 employees moving mountains in their daily lives to come
to work and make Elon money. Every single one of their actions and ideas
make Elon look smarter than he is and that’s the myth of the genius CEO.

It’s like people bragging about climbing Mount Everest while they helicopter into
base camp and hire a bunch of sherpas to carry their gear and oxygen tanks up the mountain.

The sherpas make it happen. The rich guy takes the credit.

I agree with the point you’re making, but it’s still incredibly hard to summit Mt. Everest even if you do all those things. People die every year attempting it.

once, the great man theory can explain pretty easily, across four distinct disciplines (social media, electric cars, space exploration, government) at the highest levels, if you’re still laughing at this guy and calling him a clown, you should turn your computer on cause that screen you’re looking at is showing you your own reflection. elon musk is evil, incredibly dangerous, and about to hurt hundreds of millions of people in the near future, maybe because he was called a fool instead of what he truly is

A competent villain is infinitely more dangerous than a foolish villain. Trump is a foolish villain who has surrounded himself with competent villains, Elon chief among them.

A cancer cell isn’t smart, a virus isn’t smart, Elon Musk isn’t smart. He’s a sociopath who would stop in front of nothing to amass wealth, power and influence. He’s been undoubtedly thriving in an environment in which we have been conditioned to look up to wealthy individuals as a model for disenfranchised males.

I’m pretty sure most of us could do all of those things if we were born into immense wealth, got as lucky as he has been, had no conscience, and were filled with super villain intrusive thoughts all day long like him.
