moving this post from the .world community because I am already getting annoying comments

For true stories that are so ridiculous, that you could have sworn it was an !theonion worthy story.

this story is ridiculous and onion-like because they spent millions of dollars and years fear mongering about this, only for the president to go nvm it’s actually not that big of a deal

Trump realizes that the issue was never about just sports or bathrooms, but that his party actually hates LGBTQ+.

I can’t tell if this really means any change. Sounda like he is just passing the buck to Congress, which is better than actively seeking this transphobic policy, but it might also just be Trump being flippant. Who knows what he will do. Hope he actually just doesn’t care.

I doubt it means anything will change, but I think he is signalling that this specifically is an issue that he doesn’t really care about which is diverging from the wider Trump 2024 campaign, he almost certainly will still throw his support behind bans from the military and bans of trans youth care

Just not a Republican flavor talking point. Their talking point are different.

Republicans can set their own agenda which doesn’t have to address other flavors agenda

Handicapped toilets aside, realized bathrooms don’t specialize for particular pluming. Especially when there is only one stall.

As important as caring about traffic light colours as a pedestrian.

I have no idea about what Trump “actually thinks” about trans bathrooms. But he is correct that it has never mattered. I as a fully cis male have proudly and specifically used female bathrooms, because the male bathrooms were occupied many times. It has never been a problem, and it isn’t actually a problem. Certainly not anything worthy of more then 1 second of discussion in congress.

Use the bathroom that is most convenient. End of concern.
