American Airlines flight AA1722 from New York’s LaGuardia to Charlotte was diverted to JFK International Airport on Thursday evening after a bird strike damaged one of the plane’s engines.

This is some Doofenshmirtz “If I had a nickel” nonsense. There are a couple similarities between this an US Airways 1549. Other than the birdstrike, both were Airbus A320 family planes and they were both going from LaGuardia to Charlotte. And it could be argued that they happened on the same airline since US Airways merged with American in 2015.
