It’s so much work reverse engineering the proprietary console when you can just use the steam deck.
So nice of them to use github, a platform that is so readily known for being super hesitant on takedown claims /j
/j?
jest/joking, its like /s(sarcasm) but meant to be more lighter in tone.
I say it as /j instead of /s because while they have taken down repos, they have decided to uphold projects in the past before.
How well protected is this against any lawsuits? I imagine it’s not illegal to create firmware but Nintendo might think differently. Do they have any leg to stand on?
So anyway I started suing - Nintendo

That’s reassuring. At least partly, I think we both know Nintendo is a bully anyway

Firmware has always skirted tbh. 3ds had custom firmware that allowed you to install an app that literally downloaded games from the Nintendo eshop servers for free. Nintendo eventually changed the way the eshop works to stop it but they never shut down the firmware.

Thermosphère: EL2 EmuNAND support, i.e. backing up and using virtualized/redirected NAND images
This is one of the components, which emulates your internal memory onto your SD card so you can basically sideload an entirely different Switch on your SD card. This means you can do whatever with that “entity” without messing with the system memory and files.
In practice, this seems to be used to play online via system memory, and get on Nintendo’s bad side through the SD card using EmuNAND

They have been one of the corner stones of switch custom software for years. I can’t believe Nintendo could do something and decided not to
Does this mean I can finally CFW a switch or is it still locked to old models
