Yes, we ventured into the forest on December 1st and returned with a Christmas tree. I wrestled a bit with guilt, having cut down a tree to decorate our house, but there are literally millions of them out there, and it made my wife quite happy.

We put ours up the day after the U.S. election to try and cheer things up a bit. It kind of worked? But since we spent our money stocking up on essentials we didn’t have many gifts to put underneath, so I wrapped the essentials. My husband is getting rubbing alcohol, vinegar, and borax, I’m getting bottled water, canned food, and soap, and on Christmas we’re going to go through the emergency kits and rotate all our supplies.

    Merry Christmas, I guess?

Yes! Took a while to get lights on since we had to replace some strands but now we are on to ornaments

I actually don’t have or want a Christmas tree. I live alone and have very limited storage space, so I don’t want a large box that I have to fit in the house somewhere for 90% of the year. And I don’t want to spend time putting up something that only I will see.

Instead, I got a fake palm tree that hangs out as a year round decoration. During Christmastime, I quickly slap some lights and a couple of ornaments on it. Good enough for me!

I did put up a Christmas tree and decorate at my mom’s house though!

Just brought the tree in; it is thawing and unfurling at the moment, and smells so nice. Patty watches the tree thaw
