Gonna keep it spoiler-free, it’s completely unrelated to the content (it’s brilliant).

It’s about the relationship mechanic. I now wish I’d postponed the finale until I reached max Chemistry with everyone, because the more they open up, the more endearing they get - concrete example, Lettie completely swept me off my feet and I didn’t expect it at all!

I say this because what DE have done with this bit of Warframe is, I feel, kinda’ transcendent. I don’t even know how to put it coherently yet, it’s like they’ve entirely removed the fourth wall from the story in a very specific way. The IRL IS the diegetic. And I am now certain that the finale hits veeery differently if one gets attached to the characters as much as possible. Not in that the content would be different, but in how much more it’d mean with all of that emotional load behind it.

Also a very good point! I expected it to be tied to the calendar as well, threw me off course a bit:))

I hope there’s a bigger reveal or change in dynamics either at max rank, or when the NYE arrives in about a month. It definitely felt too sudden and short wrapping it like that in the finale…

Oh, I’m almost certain there’ll be something more related to New Year’s and reaching max Chemistry (other than the whole romance deal). There are references to a New Year’s party all over the place.

Btw, just found out today that Chemistry is capped by Hex Standing… I thought it was a bug, because I was hovering at Liked for two days straight, then reached rank 4 with the Hex today and things started jumping to Trusted.

Ehh, for cavia it was just like a few more lines of dialogue and the customization feature. I dunno if I want to get my hopes up when they haven’t mentioned anything specifically. The party could mean just the pizza party diorama when you finish the Finale, no clue…

That’s probably the safest bet, yeah. But it’d be kinda’… deflating.

Thanks for the heads up, I wasn’t rushing but I was wondering if I should ignore a couple characters that I didn’t like as much. Better work the long game and get everyone in good standing then.

Honestly worth it. I felt that some of the characters were very standoffish at first, but they settle down as you get to know them (and as they get to know your Drifter, there’s a lot of lore in those talks!).

You’ll be capped in terms of registered Chemistry, though - you have to reach Rank 4 with The Hex to unlock Chem levels beyond Liked, and you’ll be prevented from ranking up with The Hex until you do the finale. It kinda’ defeats the whole point of both the interaction system and the intention of making it optional, imho.

But at least the chats progress even with the Chem cap in place and Chemistry gains will be applied once removing said cap with Syndicate Rank-up, so at least there’s some level of freedom in terms of role-playing.
