Same with my local pool hall. The system tracking play time and turning on and off the lights above a table all runs on an old C64. If it ain’t broke…
It’s a cash register. The C64 could do much more than that, but it doesn’t have too.
My dad used to fix old computers, old as in c64’s in the late 90’s, and still does as a hobby. He was a savior of dentists’ offices when their whole database went down and noone else knew how to get it back.
He still has a few in top condition and we will be playing some Mule and Wizards of War over the holidays. Maybe Dino Eggs if I get a chance to play solo.
