My ex wife and I alternate weeks with custody of our kids. This week is her week.
That said, Christmas morning I will go over to her house so the kids can open their gifts and we can all spend time together as a family. She’s cooking pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausage for breakfast. I will probably man the trash bag for the wrapping paper pickup. After that we will go on a family hike at a local park. When I get home I plan to hang out by myself.
That sounds quite nice for it to be a big family holiday. My parents could never do that
Xmas morning with just the kids and wife. Presents first then they get to play with all their new stuff until we meet the rest of the family at my brother’s house.
Our kids are both under 10 so there’s still lots of excitement and magic about Christmas.
