Summary

Former Washington police lieutenant Shane Lamond was convicted of obstruction of justice and lying to authorities for leaking confidential information to Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio.

Judge Amy Berman Jackson found Lamond’s and Tarrio’s testimonies unreliable, citing evidence of Lamond providing Tarrio updates on investigations, including a warrant for his arrest before Jan. 6, 2021.

Lamond denied being a Proud Boys sympathizer, claiming he treated Tarrio as an intelligence source.

Tarrio, already sentenced to 22 years for his role in the Capitol riot, pleaded guilty to burning a stolen Black Lives Matter banner. Sentencing is set for April 3.

      So tired of this.

“Hey we’re the Washington Territory want to be a state. Can we be called Columbia like the Columbia River?”

“No, we’re the District of Columbia and that would be too confusing.”

“Uh, okay. How about just Washington then?”

“Sure. Also we’re gonna be calling ourselves Washington, DC now and we’re just gonna kinda drop the DC part.”

      “Uh…”

Yeah, as a Washington resident, it gets frustrating. Especially since, where I grew up (South Jersey), most of us called Washington, DC “DC”. No confusion that way.
