Comparing f-35s to su-57s isn’t quite right. The 57 was developed as a response to the f-22. And they managed to get it flying only 14 years after the f-22 entered service. But by that point the MIC got bored and dropped all pretense of an air gap and just shoveled money into the f-35 to make that plane the most ridiculous thing in the sky.

To Russia’s credit, it is actually impossible for a squadron of f-22s to defeat a squadron of su-57s.

They’d have to actually build enough for a squadron first

Hey, stuffs been happening to Russia that’s straight out of an OP MC Isekai novel. This is clearly the least credible timeline.

He means in the biblical sense. They’ve been flirting long enough, they should just get a room already.

You ever go 9-0 and switch sides just to see if you can pull off the comeback?

Why? Would you rather the largest military alliance be controlled by the dictators of Russia, North Korea and China?

The goal should be no hyperpowers at all. There’s probably a place for at least four superpowers: the US, an EU with more coherent military integration, Russia, and China. If there was more unification in Africa or South America then there might also be the formation of suitable powers there.

It’s a strength through diversity thing-- we want multiple different styles of government and economy to survive so each one can steal from the others’ playbook. We can’t guarantee that liberal democracy and free markets are the best solution for our next global crisis.

It’s San Marino. The entire country is mounted on a flip-top like a bathroom trash-can lid, covering an enormous number of missile silos. Why do you think they’ve been left alone for a thousand years.

I’m sorry? You’d like there to be fascist dictatorships to preserve diversity? It’s the correct community for that take at least :D

China’s geopolitical power is starting to look wobbly, but India is definitely on the rise. I see them being firmly in the “superpower” camp within a few decades, at the latest.
