Hey everyone,
I recently started a couple of Harry Potter communities focused on various Harry Potter Ships, and I’m looking for some potential moderators to help manage them.
Drarry: https://lemmy.world/c/drarry
Hinny: https://lemmy.world/c/hinny
Hpharmony: https://lemmy.world/c/hpharmony
(More to come.)
If you’re interested in joining the respective community mod team and helping foster a welcoming space for fans of these pairings, please post in the community that you wish to be a Mod of, explaining why you feel like you would be a good fit for Moderator of that community.
Thx in advance.
Not my thing (Harry x Ginny for life!), but I wish you all the best! :)
I just created a hinny community as well:
Cool! I might have some posts for that one.
One question: Since these are brand new communities, is it necessary to have them on Lemmy World? I think a topic-specific instance like Diagon Lemmy could be healthier for the Fediverse as a whole.

It is NOT necessary to required to be on Lemmy world.
That’s great to hear!
Feel free to make ones on Diagon if you want.
I don’t actually have an alt on that instance yet, but as soon as my account is approved, I’ll create the communities.
Im mostly just trying to help expand the community, similar to what Reddit has.
Any help in expanding the Fediverse is welcome! What are your plans for growing the communities? Usually just creating communities isn’t enough, as they won’t grow without someone to feed them, especially in the beginning.
I just applied for an account on Diagon, so I’ll most likely br able to remake the communities once I get approved.
Probably start by (hopefully) getting some mods for the communities, and then work from there.
I wonder if to potentially advertise the Community(s) on the Lemmy subreddit on Reddit?

Or if there is some kind of Bot that could potentially mirror content from their respective reddit subreddits?
At least until we get the Lemmy Communities up and running?
EDIT: I was in a hurry when I wrote this comment, and I didn’t notice that you said that you had applied for an account as well.
lol

Advertising Lemmy on Reddit is a great idea, though we’ll have to handle it carefully. Advertising on the Lemmy subreddit could be viewed as spam by those who are uninterested in Harry Potter, and advertising on the Harry Potter subreddits could be viewed as spam by those who are uninterested in Lemmy. You might want to reach out to the respective moderators first to see how receptive they are to the idea.

I think there are, but it is not my area of expertise. @[email protected] might be able to help you.
