Wonder how this part works. Just runoff from the basket or do you scrape out the lowest layer into the rest of the garden once in a while?
From I’ve read and seen, modern keyhole composters work in at least two ways:

The composting cylinder is meant to sit at elevation, with the surrounding area sloping down towards the edges of the outer beds. So that’s the automatic distribution of nutrients, and I would assume that works better in places with more rainfall.

With the “GEOBIN” composter seen in the video, one can also unlock the flexible walls to manually move compost to where you want it.
My mom had one of these, and it was composed of a set of hard, locking walls, some of which you could temporarily lift up to release compost. Seems like that was a little more handy of a situation, but then again, unless the walls were perforated (like in this model), you wouldn’t so much get the automatic distribution as in step one.
