When you’re trying to burn down the only place you currently have to live, you know that somewhere, somewhere along the way, you’ve made a mistake.
Narcissists like Trump are incapable of realizing they made a mistake. If the planet combusted next year, he would just blame China while playing golf in an underground bunker and patting himself on the back.
Trump aims to gut environmental legal protections. Easier said than done.
Why do people keep saying this?
Trump has a trifecta, and control of multiple state governments. He can do what he wants. If Trump says to gut the environmental protections, and Congress votes to gut environmental protections, and the Supreme Court says they can gut environmental protections, and nobody is around who is able (or willing) to enforce those protections, those protections are gone.
Once Trump is inaugurated, he could have those protections gone by lunch if he so chooses.
