Damn, Nelson also has a hamstring injury right now. So we can’t even recall him to fill in for Saka, Sterling, and Nwaneri.
Title race is over. Can we limp over as champions? Sure. But it’s definitely not in our own hands. A catastrophe of a season all down to our terrible summer business.
I hope we can rectify it with some signings. Another left winger, another striker, another left 8 and a right back. I know it’s not all possible to do now, but we need to do some now at least.
I don’t think it’s all down to our business, though there was much room to improve on it. I think we’ve just got insanely unlucky in many ways. The refs, the injuries, can’t plan around that.
I agree that we’ve been unlucky, but the lack of signings and negative tactics haven’t helped.
this I agree with, we need to stop being so defensive imo. Feels like a trauma response to the last few seasons.
It feels like we’re hitting every hurdle for one reason or another. We’ve had some horrible luck tied in with a myriad of other circumstances outside of our control (PGMOL…).
But we’re only halfway through the season. I don’t think we will win it, but it’s not impossible. A lot can happen over the next few months that could swing the title race on its head. Maybe Forest pip everyone to the title (maybe put some bets on whilst you can xD).
For now I’m still cautiously optimistic.
