I do almost all my reading on my phone; have done for years.

It’s just so much more convenient in every single respect.

It’s always with you, you only need one free hand, it’s got a built-in light, your phone is smaller and easier to carry than a book, it doesn’t get beaten up or bent, you don’t have to carry two books to work when you only have 50 pages of your current book left, I can buy and receive new books in seconds, and I can hoard unreasonable quantities of books without filling up my entire apartment (also makes moving house 10x easier…)

Ebook format would absolutely and comprehensively suck for textbooks - the UI is nowhere near good enough for thumbing through by feel, and no ereader screen has the size or resolution required for studying - but for ordinary fiction, there’s just no downside except occasionally running out of battery.

While I do enjoy reading a physical book with real pages I can turn. I do prefer the convenience eBooks provide. I use both Kindle and Google Play Books, and its great cause I can just read on my phone whenever I have some time to spare, instead of always having to plan ahead and bring a book with me. And it’s also had the added benefit of easier discovery of new reads and authors that I might not have come across otherwise. And I do have a Surface Duo, so I also enjoy how it does emulate that book-like feel when I open it up to read something.

95% of book reading occurs on an ebook. I use a kindle and download books from my local Library. A Kindle, Libby, and a Library card is the best investment I have ever made. My reading increased by 200%! (okay that number is made up … but I read a lot more now).

I’ve read more this year than the past 3 years combined solely due to purchasing an eReader, i love it. Holding a few hundred books in my hand is super convenient, and I can quickly switch between books, even when I am not home and set multiple bookmarks to jump around quickly. I do enjoy a physical book, but I can’t see myself going back anytime soon

I’m a bit in between on eBooks. I often don’t have the time to sit and read, so I really prefer audiobooks, and when I then have the then, I like a regular book. That said, my wife has a Kobo and I’m a bit jealous as my phone isn’t great for ebooks.

I love the convenience of carrying my entire library in my pocket. I have a Samsung Fold and it’s perfect for reading on the go.

Getting a Kindle kept me able to read. While I would probably still prefer physical books in many ways, I have trouble with my hands and holding onto books for any length of time became difficult and my reading slowed to almost nothing before I tried out reading on a tablet my mom had at the time. I preferred a dedicated thing to read on though and have had several Kindles since then and I’m able to read more like how I used to.

Plus as already mentioned I love havingmy entire library at my finger tips with no worry about storage.

Also because of sales I noticed I find myself able to give up on books that aren’t really working for me, where before I felt like I had to complete every book. Which just became a chore.

I’m glad for them because they make me read more, but also they have a lot of spelling errors you don’t see in paper books, and it is annoying. But I really love having my pocket stuffed with books at all times.

Nothing beats the feel and smell of reading a physical book, but ebooks do have their place. If I’m traveling somewhere and I don’t want to carry extra things or worry about damaging my book, I can just read the epub version on my phone. Convenience is a huge plus, but it does feel less engaging and a book will never need you to recharge it.

Gardening, cooking, and some other big favorites are what I keep a physical copy for. The rest are all digital.
