Summary

Keir Starmer condemned “lies and misinformation” in the online debate over child sexual exploitation, responding to Elon Musk’s claims that Starmer and safeguarding minister Jess Phillips should be in prison.

Musk accused Phillips of being a “rape genocide apologist” over her stance on inquiries into Oldham grooming gangs.

Starmer criticized far-right rhetoric and defended his record as director of public prosecutions, highlighting his role in reopening cases and prosecuting grooming gangs.

He warned of rising threats fueled by such rhetoric and accused Conservatives of failing to challenge Musk’s comments.

Elon hasn’t paid enough attention to see that folks already know the UK shields nonces. It’s a worthless accusation at this point.

Pretty sure that’s a slander case at minimum.
