Trump and the GOP could close NASA with zero repercussions. There would be much pearl clutching and outrage, but if the first 4 years weren’t enough to turn voters away, nothing will.

I suspect that they will continue the program for a few more years so as to find more ways to funnel additional funds to SpaceX then cancel it before SpaceX is expected to actually deliver anything.
