I never really thought about it but how much recoil DOES an AT-4 style launcher have. Obviously it is not truly “recoilless” but the nature of it is still going to be fairly low.
His shiner isn’t really that big. I have seen people get got worse from having an optic slam into their eye when they were all up on a bolt action or whatever. Although people bruise differently.
So I assume it is more “ow, that hurt” coupled with “oh god, I have a headache” from the lack of hearing protection.

For recoil I can tell you from experience, not much. A lot of the time we would not use the shoulder stop, but would be pushing down really hard on the top and pull down on the front grip,and pin it onto the gunners turret shield and even then it wouldn’t kick back like it did on this guy. This dude was basically limp wristing it with both hands and not using the shoulder stop, then bitching about the gun being the issue.
It doesn’t have a lot of recoil at all which is why that guy still has a face. What it does do is make every square mm of exposed skin sting like a mofo the instant you fire it. It’s like getting slapped hard across your entire body at once. So yeah, go with the long sleeves on anti-tank rocket launcher day.
And make sure you check your backblast area or else you’re gonna kill or at least severely burn one of your own guys when you fire it.
The actual shoulder pad is a strap thingy so you don’t feel anything at all if you fire it properly.
