I had a wheel rebalanced at a tire shop chain. I saw the kid who wasn’t trained to know better use an impact gun to put the wheel back on. Fast forward to fall I come to change to my winter tires and three of the five wheel nuts won’t go back on for that corner.
Fortunately the local dealership had some in stock but next time I need something done in a shop like that I’m bringing them the wheel detached from my car.
Does that mean we can now get multiple rows like a shark?

Technology•Louis Rossmann taunts Bambu Lab by hosting banned 3D Printer firmware fork, dares $1 billion company to sue him — more creators pledge support and boycotts, Snapmaker donates equipment to embattled deEnglish
194·3 days agoGreat move by Snapmaker. In considering buying a new printer soon I am very annoyed by how difficult it is to know beforehand how much functionality of a printer is locked behind cloud connectivity that can be remotely disabled at any point. I know Bambu is to avoid absolutely thanks to the very public backlash they got but what about the others?
I know Prusa is a shining example of letting their customers own their devices but they are pricy. I didn’t know Snapmaker had the same kind of mentality until now thanks to that move.

I meant “term”. My first language is French and the French word for “term” in that context is “mandat”.
I just think that Homelander becoming “immortal” is symbolism for Trump being allowed to run for more than two
mandatesterms and Soldier Boy giving it to him against all expectations is symbolism for the Republican party allowing it while too many people expected that this is where they would have drawn the line.

Ask Lemmy•For those with lower-back issues, what's been the best work-chair for you?

Ask Lemmy•For those with lower-back issues, what's been the best work-chair for you?
2·10 days agoI have messed up my back so bad a few years ago that I couldn’t even stand or sit on a couch or normal chair for very long without pain for over a year afterwards. Fortunately I got better after a slow recovery but it never fully went away.
I sit at a desk for most of the day so solutions had to be explored. I’ve tried many things during that time. I’ve found out that what worked best was to be sitting with my legs not fully at 90 degrees with my body and my back held vertically, supported only by my core muscles.
Exercise balls worked fine if you sit more on the front edge of it, but you have to resist the urge of moving around and bouncing on it because that will absolutely wreck your back.
I’ve settled on a kneeling chair without a back support. The one I have you can adjust the angle so you can decide how much of your weight is on your knees and how much is on your butt.
Both of these require an adjustment period to get your core muscles used to be engaged for so long. Stretching your quads and hamstrings to gain more hip mobility so you can sit with your legs at 90 degrees without having to tilt your hip back and stand without tilting it forward helped a lot too.
The saddle chair does look like it would help too I might try it one day.

PC Master Race•Helldivers 2 drops to “Mostly Negative” on Steam, yet again as review bombers take aim at the game's lack of changeEnglish
10·10 days agoI don’t get the backlash still. Very few people were using exos before. Then there was a surge of people using them for a week and it is mostly back to normal again because playing exos gets old quick. They also last as long as their ammunition supplies, which goes much quicker than the cooldown period to get another one. This is desirable. Exos are supposed to be a temporary power up that doesn’t last too long otherwise it would ruin the game balance.
Although they really should work on a patch to fix all the small bugs that take you out of the game from time to time. Like the animation for your super destroyer arriving to a new location twice when joining someone else’s game. Or how you sometimes can get stuck and if you’re prone you can’t drive to get unstuck. Or how it is incredibly finicky to get your character to climb over a waist high obstacle. And seriously, I wish we could skip that animation where your character gets out of cryogenic sleep. It got old quick.
