Looks pretty fun, I’m cautiously optimistic for this game. I also don’t know if it’s just me, but all these chinese action games just blend in together and all look the same. Realistic environments that remind me of stock Unreal Engine assets, combat that looks like DmC but they put the particle slider on 500%, everything creates shockwaves and the combat looks a bit more style over substance, etc.

This is actually a game that has been in development for a long time. And if I recall correctly, it’s being made by just one person.

Edit: Okay looked up the details, the game was supposed to release in 2018, but then:

After Lost Soul Aside’s lone developer Yang Bing was offered a deal by Sony, the game picked up development and received a release window of 2018. It’s now being made by an entire team of developers at UltiZero Games, with Yang Bing leading the project. In 2021, UltiZero Games announced that Lost Soul Aside is also headed to PS5.

As for the rest, I think it’s because of industry in a country, if there aren’t many game devs, they are going to start somewhere. It’s possible they are using stock animations, but if the game industry in these countries improve, we will start getting many different visual styles and experiences. Which leads me to my next point, have you checked gameplay of Daba: Land of Water Scar, looks different. A souls-like that feels very similar to FromSoft games, but has it’s own character, weapon and enemy designs
