…the RX 9070 XT performs decently well, trading blows with the RTX 4070 Ti Super. In NVIDIA’s favorite Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K with ray tracing, the RX 9070 XT managed 26 FPS, neck and neck with the RTX 4070 Ti, whereas the RTX 4080 Super was well ahead with 32 FPS.
In 1080p, the RX 9070 XT managed 85 FPS, whereas the RTX 4070 Ti edged past with 2 more frames. The RTX 4080 Super, unsurprisingly, was well ahead once again with 101 FPS. The RX 9070 XT appears far from promising in rasterization performance, as revealed by Black Myth: Wukong. At 4K, the RX 9070 XT managed around 30 FPS, defeating the 4070 Ti Super which managed 28. And at 1080p, the RX 9070 XT raked in 97 FPS, coming shockingly close to the 4080 Super, which managed 99 FPS.
Wait, is there not going to be an RX 8000 series?
RX 8000
It supposed to be released as a RDNA 3.5 product for laptops (iGPUs?).
I have a 4k monitor, and want to play closer to native resolution …
Doesn’t seem like the 9070 XT is all that good of a solution for native 4K.
ray tracing does hurt performance a lot, so maybe it is actually. i also don’t think you necessarily need ultra settings, and dropping down to medium can work too.
Agreed regarding dropping down from Ultra. But I do think if you’re going for a high fidelity Cyberpunk experience (4K), it’s worth enabling ray tracing.
Cyberpunk is overrated as a visual experience. If they had spent an iota of the effort they did at using defeat devices to hamper competitor performance vs NVIDIA (PT, etc) into creating better NPCs, the game would be much more immersive. Also the lighting with PT is incredibly grainy and there’s a noticeable illumination lag as soon as you move. FFXII had better NPCs (and writing) than cyberpunk and it’s a relic of the past nowadays. Perhaps gameplay/art>>>>>> pseudo realistic graphics with Hollywood stars
🙄 the numbers don’t fit my world view so I’m going to ignore everyone in the industry and call a benchmark overrated.
Peak Internet.
Someone said something less positive about the game that I identify positively with, so I’m going to contribute 0 to a discussion other than ad hominem because my feelings are hurt and I can’t stand when someone does not like something I like.
Peak internet
I stopped any effort when you said the wiring in ffxii was good and it was clear you are just bigmads 🤣
Then get Nvidia. AMD can’t keep up and it’s certainly getting left in the dust at the high end.
Seems like a “mid-range” product all in the all. The price would need to be competitive relative to the 5070 (and hopefully the performance is close) for this product to make sense.
Unfortunately with all of nvidia’s bells and whistles for the new DLSS, I doubt the actual game experience will be anywhere near as comparable between the two. Anyone buying a mid range card like the 5070 or 9070 is happy to turn on things like upscaling and frame gen if it helps them get the most bang for their buck, and nvidia’s tech is considerably better on that front. The only way AMD will be competitive (IMO) is if they’re prices ~$100 below the Nvidia equivalent model.
