Summary

Officials are warning the public about scams targeting donors during the Los Angeles wildfires.

Fraudulent charities are exploiting people’s generosity, often using misleadingly legitimate names.

Scammers frequently target vulnerable groups like the elderly, immigrants, and non-English speakers.

Authorities recommend verifying charities through platforms like Charity Navigator and GoFundMe, avoiding cash donations, and using secure payment methods.

Law enforcement is investigating suspected scams and promises harsh consequences for offenders.

Sign me up. Finally someone is doing something to protect us innocent people from the those who would take advantage of us.

BTW, if I buy two subscriptions can I get twice the protection?

If you buy two subscriptions you get 1.5x the protection. Unfortunately there are diminishing marginal returns.

For regular insurance. You, my friend, if sounds like you want the premium insurance. It’s just $24.99 /mo + a one time $200 activation fee.

The premium insurance has no diminishing marginal returns and you can buy as many as you’d like! However, they all must be activated individually.
