Back in my home country, we were always told not to smile and have a neutral expression for government IDs. It was a surprise for me when I was being encouraged to smile at the DMV. I just said “no, I’m good”.
5 years? Through a quirk of covid I’m set to have my 15 year old face on my ID till I’m 29.
