“Wherever will I get my CCP disinformation now”

But hey, don’t worry, Rednote has you covered - you can indulge in all your conservative-approved social media under the paternalistic gaze of the PRC

I’m not a China felater, but I trust VERY few Western outlets to have unbiased coverage of any Chinese-related topics. They can’t even get the app’s name right in the headline.

I’ve used it in the past (to test my English-Mandarin translator project for school), and there are as many naked (and gay) men/women on it as Instagram.

It’ll be like that episode of the Simpsons where the kids go outside after Itchy and Scratchy gets censored.

    But with guillotines.

Holy shit…I think short form video is unhealthy and I thought this red note thing was fabricated to recapture an audience, but maybe it’s organic (or maybe just too big and too fast for a walled garden to stay walled). And it just goes to show the one fundamental truth so many struggle with - people are people

I still firmly believe short form video is terrible, but these interactions are beautiful

The funny thing is that the law states “a foreign adversary controlled application” is what is getting banned, e.i. all Chinese apps are being banned. It doesn’t state that it is a TikTok ban. All apps owned by a foreign adversary say all Russian apps or all Iran apps would also be banned under this law. The people that are upset are only looking at one app, it is all of owned not by a US company that are in danger.
