Most everyone except managers prefer working from home, because it shows managers how little they are actually required for the business to continue.

After being let go from my old job I actively seeked only remote job positions for a new job. Why? Not only because I really like working from home for all the perks, but because it is a peek into what the work culture is at that company. No WFH is a red flag… surely they depend a lot on the metaforical whip to make business work and profits happen.
