I am not so sure about that. Why would Iran “work with Reagan”? I rather doubt that Iran wanted Reagan to be president. The hostages weren’t released right after the election, they were released right after Reagan took office. It seems to me that Iran just wanted to embarrass Carter a bit, for sending a rescue mission.
The ‘treason’ part would be in 1984 when Reagan sold arms to Iran without the authorization of congress. But that really pales in comparison to Traitorapist Trump literally trying to overthrow our democracy. What Trump did was 2 orders of magnitude more serious.

This doesn’t really add up either. The war ended on Nixon’s 2nd term, not his first term. When you said he “worked with the North Vietnamese”, Nixon was president of the USA. Of course he worked with them. He might have been dragging out the peace talks until after his reelection, but that is not quite the same thing.

Iran had absolutely no reason to think Reagan would give them any weapons. He only did that 4 years later out of desperation to get money not authorized by congress to fund the Contras in Nicuragua. And Iran certainly had no reason to think Reagan would be less aggressive than Carter. Reagan was well known for being a hardliner on the USSR.
