It’s on a weekly release schedule, so only the first episode released [last Friday]. Has anyone been watching this series? Did you watch the new episode? What do you think of all of it so far?
I think the series is fantastic in so many ways - concept, writing, acting, directing, cinematography, production design, music. I usually avoid watching series these days, but this show really has me hooked. I was hoping to discuss it a bit here since I haven’t found much about it on Lemmy yet. I figured that this would be a favorite with a lot of people here.
If you mention details about the story, please don’t forget to add spoiler [tags].
Someone suggested I cross-post this here. Let me know if it’s not appropriate and I’ll take it down.
Note: people who are worried about spoilers, be aware that apparently some clients don’t handle spoiler tags correctly. Proceed at your own risk.
I would start episode discussion threads, but don’t know where would be the appropriate place for that.
Love it, so glad it’s back. It’s so interesting and the characters are all interesting in their own way. Just weird enough too without being up its own arse, though time will tell.
I really enjoyed season one and I really appreciate the huge swing the season one finale took.
The start of season two has started to reign that in. I think the first episode was great for the innies and gave us just enough information (Helly). If the next episode is all innie I’ll be concerned.
Just watched it last night and after that we watched a recap of season 1… wrong order but there ya go. The recap was necessary! They should have done one, it’s been years since season 1.
Enjoyed the first episode, there’s a lot in it, lots set up. But yeah if it’s all innie for the second I’ll be a bit disappointed.
There was a recap, you probably either skipped it or sailed the seven seas.
Ah yes, it’s my own fault! Good, glad they did that.
It’s the best thing that happened to TV shows, IMO. I love it too much. For anyone who has lived in corporateland, it’s brutally painful, in all the good ways.
If you are interested, don’t read about it. Just watch, inmerse yourself, fall in love. It’s worth it. Trust me.

Absolutely. The first season is available for free on AppleTV+, Prime Video, and The Roku channel at the moment.
OP… I’d love some episode discussion threads, do you think people would complain if they were in this community?
Me too. Unfortunately, I don’t know if it would be OK here because I haven’t been visiting this community for long.
I find the idea they are worried about the inside being mistreated but are fine with the procedure. I would be more worried about the surgery itself and its longterm effects. Along with the fact they seem to be able to change it in realtime. As for treatment they can just not do the job rather than the extreme measures taen.
Just imagine Apple doing this. Millions of people would love to be drilled, specially to avoid working to make someone else rich and themselves miserable. They get scammed every year with their new phones anyway, it’s not that different! 😅
So far, very few people in the show have done the procedure, and the only 2 we know is Mark, who lost his wife tragically and doesn’t want his brain to know 24/7, and that pregnant woman, just to avoid the 9 months in hell.
I’m sure there’s many people in this world, right now, who would do it. A tiny tiny fraction of the world, but we have 8 billion after all.
yeah but the way they portray it they can’t really harm the insides to much as they will have to explain it. So seems to me as an inside you can just be like. fuck this I aint doing shit and im going to do what I feel like. sure they can limit where you can go but even those session involve participation which you don’t have to give. heck you could purposely do a bad job or randomly hit the keyboard or whatnot.
