Disney+ U.K. originals “Extraordinary” and “Shardlake” will not be returning to the streamer for further seasons, Variety has learned.

Edgy comedy “Extraordinary,” which stars Máiréad Tyers and Sofia Oxenham as a pair of chaotic flatmates living in a world of superpowers, had already aired two seasons, with Season 2 ending on a cliffhanger as Jen falls into a void. It will not return for a third.

“Shardlake,” a four-part historical mystery series set in Tudor times starred Arthur Hughes, Sean Bean and Anthony Boyle, launched its first season last summer. It will not return for a second.

Despite the disappointing news, Disney+ is continuing to invest in U.K. originals, with a second season of its hit Jilly Cooper adaptation “Rivals” already underway. Other projects in the works include “A Thousand Blows,” which launches next month, documentaries about cricketer Freddie Flintoff and tragic “Love Island” host Caroline Flack and a scripted series about the shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes.

I watched shardlake. The main actor has a disability IRL and they wrote it into his shows character which was kind of interesting. I thought it was just part of the story line and then I looked him up on IMDb. Other than that it’s a murder mystery set in old England. It wasn’t half bad but it felt low budget so I’m not shocked it was canceled.

And if you continue giving streaming services your money, you’re going to continue to get disappointed.

Their business model is not to keep you hooked. They just care about what gets new subscribers into the service. For some reason they don’t care too much about retaining them

What an absolute travesty for Extraordinary.
They did such a fantastic job with the cast and the characters feeling so human while still being super powered. That’s a show I am gonna miss.

This sucks! Didn’t know about Shardlake, but Extraordinary was great.

      No.

Extraordinary is an original superhero comedy that has won awards, highly rated reviews and a large fanbase. Season 2 ends on a cliffhanger that will forever remain unresolved. It’s genuinely funny and well worth a watch.

Shardlake is an adaptation of CJ Sansoms novel series which is, as the quote says a “historical mystery series set in Tudor times”. I didn’t even know that had been made.
