While I think Picross S is, uh, spamming themselves on the Switch, this is sad to hear.

I love picross. I love Picross 3D quite a lot. And I think it wouldn’t hurt Nintendo to make a small collaboration here. Wouldn’t really cost one of the two main studios more than 3 people, and the use of the IP’s is basically synergistic. Basically low commitment, kinda like that jump rope thing. Unless if they’re morbidly short-staffed, which I feel they likely are not, but then again, the Switch 2 rumor mill has been spinning fast lately. Maybe they ARE trying to push out a bunch of titles for gold.

I’m annoyed they make so many games per console. I don’t want to keep on buying as they go. Cut it down and pack each game with more, or even just higher quality. It took them until S7 to implement touchscreen. I don’t know exactly how necessary that is now that it’s not on a DS, with one right at your disposal. It certainly made more sense to have the games touchscreen then. But that’s just it, these games may be hindered on the Switch. Like I said, it certainly doesn’t help that they put out seven iteration before implementing new features like touchscreen support. Besides, I know they aren’t making them anymore and access to Nintendo’s picross games may be limited, but their’s were far superior. Quality of life, music, art, everything better. Best picross game I played was Picross 3D Round 2!

Nintendo are ridiculously anti-consumer it’s insane but somehow they still have this ethereal old school gamer nostalgia from folks.

Nintendo is the Apple of video games, people keep buying because of the brand and nothing else. They could package a bag of rocks with their logo on it and people would buy it in droves.

How many? The Wii was a runaway success because it was innovative and allowed casual family members to participate comfortably while also being active.

The Wii U didn’t sell anything because it wasn’t.

The Switch was a runaway success because it was the first handhold capable of playing real console tier games. It couldn’t quite manage the cutting edge, but it brought a lot of shit to handheld that wasn’t available before.

The brand name plays a role for parents looking for gaming for their super young kids, but it’s not why their successful devices have succeeded.

I do think Nintendo sales have a lot to do with nostalgia but they also make great and unique games you can’t really get anywhere else. With that said they are pretty anti-consumer so I don’t have any qualms if someone pirates and emulates these games.

Literally everybody in my friend group hates Nintendo. I think all of us own a switch and always will buy Nintendo games. Mario is one of the best platformer franchises, Zelda one of the best RPGs. Hard to replace their consistent high quality franchises, even if we know the company is shit.

Not trying to argue that, “RPG” is one of the worst defined genres and I don’t really care what you categorize it as, my point is that Zelda games are pretty consistently great, unique, and have pushed the envelope for decades, much like most other 1p Nintendo games
