I’m sure it was a legitimate curiosity from ye old on-the-spectrum stage hand, not a bit of malice in it.

That was an overly sarcastic response to someone’s self-centered view. Gotta chuckle at you both for emotionally speaking what comes to mind without thinking, something that can happen with people on the spectrum.
Anyway, some are lucky enough to respond correctly, automatically, others not so much. If someone on the spectrum has the presence of mind to consider the individual and situation, they will probably respond correctly and tactfully.
lol, okay, that’s an interpretation. If you can find me an autistic person who’s working with celebrities and doesn’t know how to stifle their curiosity, I’m all ears. That’s the sort of thing you get fired for or educated about way before you get to work with Danny Trejo. I was trying to speak to the spectrum aspect of it and the fact that we exist in this world and should be held to the same standards of not poking at grieving strangers that everyone else is. If you didn’t know that asking people who recently lost a parent if they disliked that parent is rude, you know now, which is good for everyone.
Hypothetically, if Trejo ever gets senile and praises fascists like all my other heroes growing up then in that moment I’ll know this world is a lost cause. Trejo is the last canary.
They say never meet your heros, but I feel like Trejo would be the exception.
He is; he just needs to stop working with the Daily Wire and Carolla.
