…I’m still not sure what I think of Nocturne, but the art and animation are still a blast to see. Season 2 did help improve on the characters from the first season a bit, so the writing’s not bad, but it’s still tough following up on the first series.

    S2 is an improvement across the board from S1 imo. The pacing especially is a lot better. Far from perfect, but a solid and fun season. I still don’t really understand the night creatures but I guess that’s a pretty minor part of the show.

    I’m also someone who’s not as enamored with the first Castlevania show as a lot of people so in general I think season 2 of Nocturne is about on the same level as most of the original show.

      Giving the night creatures character is probably one of the most interesting writing decisions from this series so far. I’m a little bummed it’s not been explored more, as it seems like it has a lot more potential to it, but then the same could be said of the forgemasters as well, which have felt like a mixed bag in their handling.
