From South Florida Wildlife Center
This Burrowing Owl (24-7518) was found in Miami Gardens at a construction site.
When it arrived at our hospital, the vet staff found an old fracture to its left wing and swelling in its right wing. It was suspected that the owl was caught by something or got itself entangled somewhere.
Burrowing owls are one of the smallest owl species in the world. This species is protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. If you find a Burrowing owl in need, be sure to contact your local wildlife rehabilitation center, for more specific questions about the species, visit projectperch.org! He looks white hot pissed ALL the way off that he’s above ground right now.
Just clap your wings together 3 tubes and say “there’s no place like hole!”
(24-7518)
That is one hell of a long-lived bird…
I was just reviewing the post since I make most of them well in advance, and my mind went to the same place. Glad I’m not the only one! 😆
Hehe just what I thought
My kid makes that face when they have to take medicine!
I know for me when I was young, kid medicine either tasted extremely good (Dimetap was the best), or extremely bad (tie between NyQuil and Alka Seltzer) so my face always prepared for the worst with a new medicine. 😖
This feels so intimate
X-ray me like one of your French owls…
(Edited to remove a joke that someone else already made)
Mm . . . Tubbs.
Feel better Tubbsie!
I do feel they deserve to have names if people take the time to care about them. We have accepted them as fellow creatures with needs, and a proper name is how we acknowledge each other’s individuality.
Get well, Tubbs!
