I am investigating nabbing a OnePlus 6T for testing PostmarketOS. Anyone have any experience with it?
I did this and used PostmarketOS for about a month before reinstalling LineageOS. Biggest problem for me was the lack of Camera. If you have a second device running android or iOS then it is a fun idea, but not really practical as a main device.
I’d have my other device with LineageOS for that among other reasons!
Not the 6T but I owned the 6 for years until AT&T decided to forcibly disable any of their SIM cards in one when they sunsetted their 3G network (still very pissed about this…).
I know the spec.s were similar, while being improved on the 6T, so not 1-to-1 but I can say the 6 was a really solid device.
When I ran Mobian on it, the extra spec.s (over, say, the PinePhone) really made things pretty nice; I’d expect you’d have a nice time with it and I think it’s a solid device.
That’s good to hear! My only holdout is that it’s only 4g. So I may hold off. But I really want to test a Linux phone.
